• Your consultation

  The first step of your veneers procedure will be to prepare the surface of your tooth. Your dentist will need to remove a very thin layer of enamel from your tooth before the porcelain veneer can be placed.

  This ensures the veneer does not protrude beyond your gum line, making sure it looks and feels natural.

  Your dentist will also roughen up the enamel beneath to add extra texture. This helps the veneer, when applied with a special dental cement glue, to bond strongly to the tooth.

• Your treatment

  If you’re considering porcelain veneers, you’ll need to book a consultation with Dr Pittack to talk about your options. He’ll explain the procedure in greater detail during this appointment. If you decide to go ahead, you’ll be invited back to our North London surgery to set the wheels into motion.

  Once the surface of the tooth has been prepared, your dentist will make an impression of it before positioning temporary veneers. These will protect your tooth whilst the mould is sent away to a dental laboratory for your custom porcelain veneer to be made.

  When finished veneers arrive back at the Mill Hill East surgery, usually after around two weeks, you’ll be invited in for your final appointment.

• Your veneers fitting

  This will involve bonding your bespoke porcelain veneers to your teeth permanently. This may involve closing small gaps in your teeth or covering chips or cracks.
